  • Sewing technique. It is advisable to use longer stitches to prevent the fabric from dragging. This is particularly important with lightweight and transparent fabrics such as curtains. In order to maintain the elasticity and natural ‘flow’ of the fabric, avoid stitches that are too tight.

  • Pleats. Use pleats before sewing your curtains, especially for sleeves or skirt bottoms. They will allow a better fit and reduce the risk of deformation of the fabric during use.

     

  • Edge finishing. Finishing the edges delicately – by hemming them – can greatly enhance the aesthetics and durability of curtain details.
